It's Beginning to Look alot Like Christmas

First off you should not be afraid to say Merry Christmas!  So I made my first wreath.  I got some good feedback so I decided to make a couple for Christmas.  My lovely trophy wife even gave me the idea of making a couple and giving them as Christmas presents.

So off to Michael's I went to see about making my first Christmas wreath.  This time I was sure I did get a couple of 24" ring.  The size difference is quite noticeable!  However, I was going to make two wreaths for some people who are very dear to my heart.

The first is for my wife's best friend.  She has a heart the size of all of North Carolina.  Going to her home is always something.  People laughing, talking and just hanging around...and none of it at a reasonable volume.  Since my wife and I were dating she has welcomed me into her home.  She was my wife's maid of honor, and her sons and daughters have become younger brothers and sisters to me.

The second was for her the mother of my wife's best friend.  Years ago I was in Spain and I, quiet accidentally, tried piaya.  I LOVED IT!  One Thanksgiving at my wife's friends house I was taken aback when what do my wondering eyes do appear but a whole serving platter of piaya.  Suddenly I was like the seagulls in Finding Nemo, "Mine."

After I ate...well almost all of it.  I thanked her so much.  There is not a time I am over there now where piays is not given to me in mass.

This family and some others here in North Carolina have restored my faith in the human race.  Below is  the wreath I made for my wife's best friend.  It is a 24", with all the materials purchased at Michael's.

Looking back I wish I filled this one in a bit more.  Doing a 24" wreath is quiet a bit of filling to do.  I would like to claim inspiration for giving me the idea for two different colors but I ran out of green...so I filled in with red.

Here is the one I gave to friend's mom.  I made this one a 16".  I thought the size and filling in went with her personality.

She put it on her front door.  I was so touched!

Next up...NFL WREATHS!
